Love Shipment to Kenya – Container Update
Monday, 8 February 2010
Dear Friends,
Thank you for your prayers for Lois and Andrew in Kenya. Lois is doing much better now and we look forward to my departure on Friday February 12th.
Thanks for your prayers for my time at the military base. I thought it went well. These soldiers seemed genuinely interested in what we were doing and learning about African culture. A few came up to me afterwards and said that they were believers and praised God for what we were doing. I just wanted to update you on our progress with the container before I leave.

Soon we will start loading a container
- We have decided to push back the departure of our container to June 1st so our goal for getting everything to our staging location will be May 15th instead of April 15th 2010. If the container is not full, we will delay the shipment further.
- God has heard our prayers for a handicap-access lift and a brother in Christ is donating his. Today we were able to remove it and taking to the container staging area.
- We also praise God for donations of a bicycle, some theological books, playground and nursery school equipment and medical equipment.
- Unfortunately, we are cancelling our request for children’s shoes. We found out that if we take a large quantity it will cost us $500.00 to fumigate the whole container. So please don’t collect any shoes if you were thinking of doing that.
- If you are on a missions committee of one of our supporting churches, we are requesting that you choose two categories of items that you would like to focus on. This can help you to be creative with themes and ways of encouraging people to give these items or purchase new ones. We already have one small group of a church that wants to do something like this. Please let us know what your church is intending to do so we can make sure all of the bases are covered.
- If you are living in the D.C. area, we have a church in Reston, VA that is willing to serve as a collection point. Keep in mind that we want to know what you are donating before taking the items to this collection point.
- Let me know if you need a copy of our list of needed items. Here is a link to download PDF version of the complete supplies list KenyanSupplies.PDF (448k)

We are so grateful for volunteers who donated and helped us remove this lift!
Please pray that I will be able to get out of Philadelphia on the 12th. We had over two feet of snow and now another 12-18′ is headed our way this week!
Grateful for your partnership,
Robert
