Update on Jordan
Friday, 13 November 2009
God is answering our prayers. Here is an update from Jordan’s mother:
To my faithful pray-ers:
I wanted to send another update because as of today there has been remarkable improvement in Jordan’s condition. He went swimming today at the rehab center and he is walking and exercising well without much help. Although he gets tired easily, he is in good spirits otherwise. With tiredness in mind, I want to thank those of you who are anxious to visit but resting after his therapies all day is very important. He may need to be there approximately another two weeks and then home for a bit. Jordan loves visitors but it makes him awfully tired for now. His brain is still working on “re-booting!”
Thank you all for continuing to pray for Jordan’s recovery. God is being glorified and His presence is felt by us during this time. I wanted to tell you that Jordan talked to an elderly woman the other day, put a sweater on her, and they talked about God a bit. She said something to the effect of, “Well…I go to church but I don’t really get much out of it.” Jordan immediately said, “That’s your problem! Don’t just go to church, go to God!” She said he was quite the charmer and had given her a lot to think about
Some specific prayer needs this week are:
1. Pray that Jordan’s dizziness would subside and thought processes would continue to recuperate. There has been significant change for the better in those areas but still not back to normal.
2. Thank God that his speech has slowed down. It was fun to hear what he was thinking, but the rapid-fire loquaciousness would have really driven him and everybody nuts after a while!
3. Thank God that his strength on his left side is beginning to rebuild and pray for increased balance.
4. Continue to pray if it is God’s will that a source of the stroke might be found. It’s a little scary to think that it could happen again without warning. Any and all tests have continued to come back completely normal in every way.
5. A big request this week is that Jordan make the right decision about school. VMI has fairly strict policies but has extended several options for him as to his return. Pray that the NROTC scholarship will not be affected by a medical leave or furlough.
6. Pray that all paperwork and insurance issues work correctly.
Thank God for all our praying friends and family! He is amazing indeed! Thank YOU individually for your prayers, offers of help, and gifts.
Love, Robin Iida
