The past several weeks have been out of the ordinary since we took a vacation with our team the week of Easter, then had two days of intense team meetings before our mini team of three from Philadelphia arrived for 12 days of ministry together…

The work of Kianga Kids in Ongata Rongai began with the task of giving de-worming medication to the children in families affected by AIDS. We have visited homes there over the past few months with Pastor Joel and met single moms and their children. Starting slowly and building trust is the approach we prefer…

The week of March 10, Kimberly and I worked again with MAP International in the Internally Displaced People camps three hours to the west of Nairobi. What a privilege it is to serve people in this way – we love this work! When we were not triaging the long line of the sick, taking vital signs, examining patients or filling prescriptions we went from tent to tent to listen to tragic stories, offer prayers of healing and forgiveness and leave a gospel tract in Swahili…

Our team is expanding! Over the next year we will receive some short-term field workers – three young ladies during this summer to help with Kianga Kids – two nurses and one nutritionist, and in the fall, three college grads as youth and children’s workers and a married couple to assist us in various aspects of the ministry with AEPC churches…
