Kenya Post-Election Update

Thanks for continuing to pray for Kenya. We are happy to announce that the power-sharing agreement is moving along very positively and the “coalition government” is staying on track with its goals and we are all praising God for this answer to prayer. But there are still economic hurdles for the country that will not easily go away and there are still thousands of IDP’s without homes or means of livelihood…

Mwingi Trip: Two Shallow Wells

We praise God for the progress made on two ‘shallow wells’ being dug in two different locations in this area that regularly experience drought. Money was raised and went to our Famine Relief Fund almost two years ago and we wanted some of that money to go towards these preventive measures rather than spending all of the money on food…

Meeting with Kyuso Presbyterian Mission Board

During this time I also met with the Kyuso Presbytery Mission Board. We are hoping this board will be a ‘dream-come-true’ for the future of church planting in the AEPC. It represents a vital part of our new church planter training strategy. Rather than training CP’s randomly from different parts of the country and expecting them to somehow implement them in their own church plants, as we did in 2004, and rather than focusing on pastors in one region as we did in 2006, we are now trying to focus on CP committees (or Mission Boards) that work with the pastors of various regions throughout the country…

The purpose of this trip to Mundri, South Sudan, was to help prepare the way for our newly forming WHM Sudan team. The participants included Bob Osborne (WHM Executive Director), Paul Leary (Overseas Director), Michael Masso (Sudan Team Leader), in addition to three board members, one American pastor and me as the Sub-Saharan Africa Director…
